Stuart and Ben came down for the OU School of Meteorology’s Visiting Students Weekend this past weekend. It was a wonderful weekend of good friend, good friends, and meteorology-talk, of course. Today Stu and I capped off the great weekend by finding a little house for us here in Norman! We’re still waiting on the Air Force to approve Stuart’s educational delay, but even if they don’t, it looks like he won’t have to report to his first base until May 2012. Because of this, we decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on the house.
It’s a small, 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom house with a large fenced backyard (yay Penny!), a one-car garage and a carport over part of the driveway (yay hailstorms!). It’s only 5-10 minutes away from the National Weather Center and is in a pretty quiet part of town. We put down our deposit today and should be moving in between Stuart’s graduation and the wedding in May! Can’t wait 🙂 One of the best parts of the house is its price! Currently I pay $589 for my one-bedroom apartment. The house is $675 and is apparently so energy-efficient that it has lower utility bills that my apartment. Woo hoo for saving money!
You can see a picture of it here.
It appears you’ll be needing a couple of Adirondack chairs now. 🙂
